TRACEWINDU: Connecting Research and Practice

Ongoing secondments within the TraceWindu project are strengthening collaboration between DunavNET and the University of Pisa (UNIPI), supporting joint efforts to enhance wine traceability through a combination of research, field activities, and technological innovation.

Recent visits included meetings with the TraceWindu team at UNIPI, exchanges on current activities, and fieldwork such as installing monitoring devices in vineyards. These steps contribute to the project’s broader goals—improving transparency, authenticity, and sustainability in the wine value chain.

A key focus remains the development of the digital Product Passport, envisioned as a tool for connecting producers and consumers through verified data. Blockchain technology is being explored as a foundation for trust, traceability, and protection against counterfeiting.
