What happens when a vineyard technician puts on a VR headset for the first time? Today, we found out.
We welcomed VET students, agricultural technicians and agronomy experts to the FARMTRON-XR validation day — the moment months of design and development had been building toward. Working on Meta Quest 3S headsets, participants stepped into a virtual vineyard and worked through four training scenarios: battery diagnostics, mechanical fault detection, sensor calibration and connectivity troubleshooting. The same steps they would carry out in the field, without the risk of real-world errors.

Every hesitation at a UI prompt, every successfully diagnosed fault and every piece of survey feedback is data that will shape the final version of the module. Validation day is not the finish line — it is the entry point into the last round of refinements.
FARMTRON-XR is part of the MASTER`s program and co-funded by the European Union.
Grateful to every participant who gave us their time and their honest feedback today.
